lecomt de brégeot
From Amsterdam to Olhão, my path into art hasn’t been a straight line. I’ve worked in many different fields over the years, but photography and art have always been part of my life.
I studied at the Photographic School and run in Amsterdam my own photo studio with my friend Hans. Around that time I stumbled across a big colored screen print of Marilyn Monroe at the Albert Cuyp market — and that’s when my fascination with Pop Art really began. The bold works of Warhol, Rupert Jason Smith, and others stayed with me ever since.
It took a while, but now, in my studio in Portugal, I’m finally creating Pop Art myself — combining photography and screen printing, inspired by the artists who first sparked my imagination.
